Birthing is going well with some exceptionally exciting cria of late - even worthy of a phonecall to Matthew and Cathy! Yet again Spartacus, Commisario and Gianmarco are all featuring heavily in the forefront. New male Stravinsky is more than holding his own in following on from the successes of his first cria Vanquish (a Caesar daughter's offspring).
As many of you who follow our news and events section will know EP Cambridge Illustrious was awarded Champion Adult female at the recent national show in Australia. Her sister Sculptress went before her winning the coveted Junior female Champion at the same show back in 2004 and Ruffo's time, her full sister by Ruffo also won ribbons. Responsible for this amazing success is the formiddable Martana - something of a matriarch at EP Cambridge. It is an incredible thing to see a dam produce such a high caliber of cria time and time again, generation after generation. What is more exciting, something that i can't wait for Matt and Cathy to come back to, is that family continuing on through the daughters with equal success. Sculptress had The Prodigy back in February who will without doubt be a herdsire of huge genetic worth in his own right. Ruffo's Time is currently the lady of the hour as she parades her beautiful little female by Commisario. It is an amazing thing to sit here and watch these prestigious lines build before your eyes. It is fair to say that when you have lines such as this breeding good alpacas is an effortless affair. I take my hat off to you Martanna!!! Oh, and to you boys...no big heads now....
