High Drama for a cat and a monkey!

The weather has now returned to a pleasantly warm and sunny Autumn much to the delight of everyone at EP Cambridge. Yesterday brought some drama to the farm as the resident cat (actually a fairly small kitten) decided to scale the heights of a very tall and skinny tree during the course of the evening before and became stuck. By late yesterday afternoon the distress of the kitten, not to mention Cathy, was growing more intolerable so Colin was called in. He scaled the tree as far as he could and still little Indie would not venture down towards safety. Back down the tree with much cracking and breaking of branches in search of a device to aid in the rescue bid. The ingenuity deserved a point as a plastic, deep sided tray was nailed to the top of a tall piece of wood. Now, in an uncannily monkey like fashion, he once again ascended the tree. The new cat-catching device was passed up to him and then travelled further up the tree with Cathy watching and wondering if Matthew would mind his mechanic stuck up a tree or worse still in hospital!!! To the amazement of the now growing group of onlookers Indie actually hopped with a look of relief in to the tray on top of the pole. Now to get down! So we currently have a cat in a red tray on top of a pole and a monkey mechanic about 2/3 the way up the tall and skinny tree. Add to the equation James (who had made an earlier failed attempt to scale the dizzy heights) positioned about a third of the way up, a qualified electritan (john) in the most sensible place of all - the bottom - and a chain along which to pass our now calm kitty down and safely in to the arms of its owner!

Phew!

I still think my idea of a fire hose to dislodge the kitten and a blanket to catch it in was a good one.

Just got home folks, thanks for everything, will be in touch very soon, off for some kip.
